Hi we are room 5 we are a country school. With years 5,6 and 7 in our class
we love PE and and the outdoors. We enjoy art and all of our other subjects
such as maths, writing, spelling, reading and much more.We are lovely bunch
of kids who work hard and love to take on new challenges.
Watching the rain
I sat not waiting just looking ,staring at the rain drops slowly and carefully dropping
onto the window . I could hear laughter from the other room . I looked around but only to
see an empty hallway . I heard banging on the windows on my window.I turned
around and thought it was in my head. But then I realized it that the rain was getting
deeper and turning into icey hail stones cold hard and frozen. It was getting darker and darker
by the minute and would soon be pitch black.
Zoos do more good than they do harm. Today I will be discussing some ideas as to why I think that zoos do more good than harm I will be talking about how they save animals from becoming extinct. And zoo’s making their enclosures normal also giving some animals to the SPCA. And it helps animals get along better with human and animals that live near by. I will lastly be giving ideas as to ways they can improve on things. I think that zoos save animals rather than being cruel to them. Yes, they sometimes take the animals away from their families and environments, but this is only to keep them safe from danger. This is especially helpful when they’re endangered species because they will breed them so they are no longer endangered. I agree they may like it more in the wild but they are a lot safer being looked after in zoos. Zoos enclosures are made to be as similar to an animals wild habitat as possible. By putting animals in zoos, zoo keepers and visitors can learn more about them and then one day maybe even use some of the information they learn to help save other animals similar situations. When animals are found without their mothers the zoos will give them to the SPCA, who will look after them until they are old enough to go into the wild alone, and even then they still keep track of them to make sure their safe. (as well as when their sick they don’t just leave them to die the vets give them special medication and if that doesn’t work and there is nothing else they can do then they humanely put them down instead of letting them suffer.). Also being in zoos helps them interact with humans and animals near by. But there are some things they could improve on. Like making some of the enclosures a bit bigger so that the animals are more comfortable. Another improvement could even just be making shorter visiting times and less opening days so that the animals have more time to themselves. Something else they could work on is not allowing cameras, because some of the animals don’t like the flash and the ones that are stuck in small cages like the birds, they could maybe make bigger cages with lots of the trees they like and would have in their natural habitats. I also think that it doesn’t help the animals that are not endangered so they could just keep the endangered animals in the zoos and leave the normal ones in their natural habitat with their families . So I hope I have put my point across to all of you ,that zoos do more good then they do harm. Thank you.
